Zelda and Zoe are five weeks old.
Zelda weighs 8 oz more than her sister, Zoe, but Zoe holds her own in their tussling matches. This week they worked on their “sit” command (Zoe remains somewhat clueless still as of this writing, Zelda has caught on.)
They’re downstairs full-time now; Zoe is the one who put two and two together and realized that she could use their frog toy as a stair-step to hoist herself to the ledge of their boxed area, then place her front paws on the rim, and overboard and onward to freedom!
Actually I saw her first attempt and gently placed her back down. When she repeated the sequence three more times, I was amused, but I scooped up both girls and set them up for their next stage in the thick of family life full time. I confess this is a stage in which I’m inclined to baby the puppies a bit longer. I lean toward the heated whelping room for nighttime containment as long as possible, but they’re fully ready for normal household temperature. It was a good time for the move.

Love the current photos – you guys do a GREAT job of up-close and personal pics!
They ALL look like they are thriving – they are so well cared for!
I just love Zoe’s little face with the “Phantom of the Opera” mask markings!
Wish I could have seen her trying to escape the whelping box, that must have been hilarious. These puppies seem so smart and good-natured.
The little girls look great, I can see how much fun it is to see them tumble and start to follow your incredible training. I can’t wait to see them with the other litter.
